Answer: Enable a server that responds on port 3306 on the local machine and you wont see this. The SMTP host allows unrestricted access and it hasn't hit any quotas for message size, etc. In both cases, I use the same jar libararies, same class files, set the host to the same SMTP server, but in the 1st case it sends fine, in the 2nd case gives below error though they both point to the same mail host!! The SMTP server is fine and running on default port 25. Its pointing to the same SMTP server (not localhost). The same code works fine on one machine (Windows XP, JDK 1.4.2_06), but when I port it over to a different machine (Windows 2003, JDK 1.4.2_03). I'm having the same error but it works on 1 machine but not on another.
